Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most common questions we receive from early childhood education teachers. Not finding the answers you’re looking for? Don’t hesitate to reach out directly.

Do I need experience in early childhood education?

No! If you are looking for an early childhood education job near you, we truly meet you where you are. You can be hired as an Aide, Assistant Teacher, or Teacher based on your experience, education, and qualifications.

If you’re newer to the field, we provide training and classroom shadowing to help you feel confident and prepared before stepping into our partner center classrooms.

We do not, however, cover in-home centers at this time.

You choose your own availability each week, our placement coordinator will fill your schedule with shifts that fit your availability.

Shifts are available Monday–Friday between 6:30am–6:00pm.

We ask for a minimum availability of 16 hours per week, with the option to work up to 40 hours if you’re looking for full-time hours.

Yes. We ask that you have your own reliable vehicle so you can travel to various partner childcare centers within a maximum 25-mile radius of your home base. This does not include Uber, Lyft, public transportation, or ride-sharing, as reliability and punctuality are essential for supporting classrooms.

It depends on your availability and preferences. Some teachers enjoy working in different centers and classrooms, while others prefer long-term placements where they stay at the same center for an extended period. When both options are available, we do our best to align placements with what you most enjoy.

Our partner centers serve infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. We’re looking for teachers who are flexible and open to working with any of these age groups, as placements may vary based on center needs.

This opportunity is perfect for educators who are flexible, dependable, and enjoy variety. You don’t need years of experience—just a willingness to learn, support classrooms, and adapt to different age groups and teaching environments.

It’s a great fit for people who are:

  • Retired educators looking to stay active in the field and share their experience
  • Parents or caregivers seeking flexible work around family schedules
  • Early childhood professionals building hands-on experience or exploring different teaching environments

  • Anyone who loves kids and is excited to connect with various childcare centers across the Twin Cities

Absolutely. This role is a great way to:

  • Gain hands-on classroom experience
  • Build professional connections in early childhood education
  • Explore different teaching styles and center environments
  • All while maintaining a flexible schedule that works around school or other commitments.
You’ll receive ongoing support from our team every step of the way. This includes comprehensive orientation and training, clear guidance and expectations before placements, and a responsive team you can reach out to with questions, concerns, or additional coaching whenever you need it.
